Compensating Presser Foot for industrial lockstitch machine. These presser feet are designed to sew on the edge of your seam or hem. The compensating presser foot comes in left and right in various distances. They have a small spring that allows the split foot to drop onto the feed on your machine, forcing the seam to butt up to it. They make guiding the fabric must easier and with less effort to keep to a straight line.

Note from Melanie Jayne: To hem a chiffon or satin gown, I use the CR 1/16 on a narrow hem. First I run the raw cut hem through a rolled hem setting on my overlocker and then turn the edge under as small as possible, while sewing 1.5mm from the edge using the compensating right hand 1/16 (1.5mm) presser foot The compensating foot really guides the edge of the hem through neatly with little effort. It stops the fabric from wandering and keeps it in a straight line. The hem looks small and professional. One of my favourite hems to do.
